A downloadable game for Windows

Siege to Scale is an RTS game made for the GMTK 2024 jam.

Build units, scale your core, topple titans, and climb your way to total domination.

Lots of different unique units, plenty of strategies to play with.

In the post-jam version, I've substantially improved enemy AI, so they actually pose a decent threat in late-game, as well as about a million bugfixes. You can pause with space now, lots of balance tweaks, you can choose what resource that compact drills are mining. You can also choose what factory to start with. Overall, a much better gameplay experience.

Hope you like it <3

Played a few games til I got my first win by powerscaling up to tier 4s... I really got into it! Good stuff!

Glad to see there was a post-jam update! I went ahead and beat the game in nightmare mode... first try? ;)

I'll be sharing my impressions so far (~10 hours played?), out of enthusiasm.
Neighbors starting as support is a considerable advantage, but considering I played a dozen games at this point maybe I also improved.
I like the changes and additions! One thing that I wonder is the "defend" mode, you used to be able to right click the spot units should defend, now doing so changes them to "move" mode...
It would be nice if the supply units communicated, they often all beeline to the same deposit and backtrack when the unit ahead empties it.
The repair beam and turret installations are insanely good in early and midgame, I'm so glad opponents never build those.
It could be nice for support units to have a "support" mode where they seek out damaged units and repair them.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing this! There's good potential I think!

Glad you liked it! Guess nightmare mode isn't hard enough yet xD

Enemies starting as support units is definitely a hindrance for them; May need to disallow them from picking support factories as their first unit.

With the defend mode, initially, people would right click to move defending units, then be confused that they're chasing enemies, not going to the exact selected location, etc, because when they right click, they just expect units to move there, they don't realize they're still on "defend" mode. So that was just a thing to try and keep it intuitive.

The supply unit pathing is definitely.. questionable. It's definitely not great, though I've tried my best to remedy it. The AI in general needs a bit of a brush up for sure.

Repair beam and turret may be a little bit overtuned; With both, I'm planning on adding the ability to change the strength in a menu, where higher strength increases the resource drain exponentially, and have the current strength of the two be more expensive, with a more reasonable option at the current resource drain. Should help, I feel.

And I definitely hear ya on the support mode, that's a major thing for sure.

Been working on a lot of good stuff for the next update in general; Encyclopedia for seeing all the exact stats of units, better control of unit selection, like being able to select all of your units at once, or all of one type of unit. Plus lots of major enemy AI improvements, to make them a little more formidable; Looking into some proper neural network based enemy AI, we'll see where that goes.

Glad to hear you like it! I'll keep workin at it ^^

Wow! Great to hear, cheers!
