Momentum Mori

Kill enemies, get points, kill more.

You're constantly approaching death's door, and the only way to keep it at bay is by getting higher and higher scores. Keep your combo high and your speed higher to keep yourself alive.

Every time you kill an enemy, you get points based on your current combo, and your current speed. Move twice as fast, you get twice as many points.

You have three weapons at your disposal.

The Boomstick is a double-barrel shotgun with an intense blast, and high recoil. Firing it will launch you in the opposite direction, and end the existence of anything on the other end of the barrels. You get two shots, then you have to touch solid ground (or any solid surface, for that matter) to reload.

The Mors Lux is a rocket launcher which fires high-speed explosive-packed payloads downrange, and automatically reloads after firing. Launch a rocket at your feet to soar into the air, or bounce off walls, enemies, anything you can land a shot on.

The Sawtooth is an odd instrument, launching a sawblade at your foes. When hitting an enemy, it will fly back to you, launching you in the direction it came from. After returning, and a short cooldown, it's ready to fire again. Bounce sawblades off walls and enemies, line yourself up, and catapult through the air.

In addition to your weapons, you have a dash, and you can scale walls by jumping straight up them.

Note: After your first run scoring over 100k points, you can go to the Loadout screen from the main menu to modify your weapons, which opens up a lot of new abilities, once you've gotten the hang of the basic movement.

This game was made for the Scorespace Jam #28.
(Note: The theme for the jam was Mutation, but the theme was announced as Momentum due to lag on their twitter poll, and I didn't find out until very far into the jam that they announced the wrong theme.)

Music, sprites, coding, design, sound effects, and literally everything else was done by me, no help or outside assets were used in the making of this game.
